Lucky's Story

Meet Lucky your new best friend! Dubbed Lucky, because he is indeed a lucky dog, has quite the transformation story. Two months ago, he wandered on to the property looking for help and he found a sympathetic person who immediately gave him a helping hand. He was starving - ribs showing and weighing just 39 lbs. Today, he is a thriving, happy, healthy 55 lb. joyful spirit. He’s a good mix of playful and affectionate, best friend energy. Whoever adopts lucky will be getting a devoted and loyal companion - he’s a great dog.

He loves playing fetch with his ball and his favorite stuffed bear. If your arm gets tired, no problem—he will happily entertain himself by tossing the ball up into the air and chasing it down on his own. It’s impossible not to smile watching him!

He is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with everyone - other dogs, and even cats (he’d love to play with the cats if they’d let him!).

Lucky knows basic commands like sit, down, and come. He can get a little distracted when practicing his recall outside, so he’ll just need an adopter willing to continue a bit of light, consistent training.

Lucky is fully vetted and potty/crate trained. He is about 8 months old and weighs 55 lbs.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering, please complete our NE application using the link below -

https://bigdogrescueproject.org/adopt/adopt-ne/
