Lucky's Story
Hi there friends my name is Lucky! I am a 1 year old, 66 lbs., neutered male, Pitbull mix. I am an outgoing and friendly guy that likes to say hello to people and dogs alike. I enjoy going on walks and playing with all of the staff and volunteer's here, at the shelter. I especial love squeaky toys, the squeakier the better, especially if you are throwing it for a game of fetch. I'm a young boy with lots of energy to spare so I can't wait to go home and play, play, play. If I sound like a good addition to your family, come in and ask staff about me! Lucky ID#A953277
I recently spent went on a hike with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did:
I took Lucky on the hike this morning. Lucky is a very sweet dog. He was very easy to leash and get going! He was a little apprehensive getting in my car - I think he was trying to figure out how to fit in my small back seat. I was able to use treats and affection to get him to jump in! Once in the car, he was very calm in the backseat. He enjoyed checking out the sites on the way to our adventure. Once we got to our destination, Lucky was ready to have some fun. He was pretty patient waiting for us to get started, which took longer than normal, so kudos to him. He even laid down and rolled over for belly rubs while waiting. Once the hike started, he was full of enthusiasm for the activity. He is very playful and seems to love being with other dogs. He really wanted to play. He also loves to sniff all the scents the world has to offer and it was a beautiful day to do that. He does seem to have some prey drive and shows interest in chasing birds and squirrels. When we got to the beach, he loved zoomies on the sand and digging in the sand to make himself a cool spot to lay in. I wish I could have gotten his goofy puppy antics on video, but he was too busy having fun to let me do that. When we returned to the shelter, he politely returned to his dorm and accepted many pets and kisses. Very sweet pup!
