I’m Lucky! I’m a 1-year-old male Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler), weighing about 28 pounds, and I’m a resilient, affectionate boy with a gentle soul. I came into rescue after being picked up by local animal control with a serious injury — I had been shot in the face. Thanks to great care, the bullet was removed from my upper lip, and I’ve healed beautifully. Even better? I show no fear or sensitivity about it at all — I love having my face touched, enjoy kisses, and lean right into affection.<br/><br/>What I want most is to be right next to you. I’m a true people-dog and happiest when I’m close, whether that’s standing between your legs while you walk (something I’m still learning about!) or just soaking up attention. On a leash, I’m still figuring things out, but I improve every day with consistency.<br/><br/>My energy level is fairly low to moderate. I have some puppy moments, especially if I’m bored, but give me a toy and I’ll happily entertain myself. I’ve done well with every dog I’ve met so far and continue to show positive, friendly behavior. I can be cat or kid tested upon request. <br/><br/>I absolutely love to run and would thrive in a home where I have space to stretch my legs — a yard or an active family would be perfect for me.<br/><br/>I will come neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.
