Lucille's Story
Lucille and her sister, Bixie, came to us all the way from Alabama after being found as strays. They spent a few months with a rescue there but sadly weren’t getting any interest . When we were asked if we could help, we couldn’t say no—and now they’re here, ready for their fresh start!

These girls originally came into rescue with their mom and siblings when they were just tiny puppies. Their mom (who has since been adopted!) looks like a small hound mix—mostly beagle—but dad remains a mystery. Lucille’s long legs and adorable features even make us think there could be a little “pittie” in the mix!

Lucille is currently about 25 lbs and is expected to be a medium-sized pup, likely a bit bigger than her mom. She’s settling in beautifully with her foster family, which includes two house cats and an older dog—and she does great with everyone!

Her foster mom says it best: “If you’re looking for a best friend for your best friend, Lucille is your girl!” She’s part hound, part kangaroo (seriously, the hops! ), and 100% love. Lucille absolutely adores other animals—she loves to kiss, groom, and stay in constant contact. Her favorite place? Snuggled up touching another dog. And if a playful cat is willing to engage, she’s more than happy to join in on a game of chase!

Lucille is sweet, curious, and full of life. She’s still adjusting to all the big changes and can be a bit timid with new people, but with a gentle approach, she warms up nicely. She’s very aware of sounds, loves being outside, and is working on her crate training. Like any young pup, she’ll need continued guidance and patience as she builds confidence.

Because she thrives on companionship, Lucille would do best in a home with another young, playful dog to help her feel secure and keep her entertained.

Lucille is up to date on vaccines, preventatives, and fecal testing. She will need to be spayed soon, and her adoption fee has been reduced to $400 to help with that cost.

If you’re interested in giving this loving, playful girl the forever home she deserves, please submit an application on our website:
https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org

For any questions, feel free to email: jessie.wilson@comcast.net

Thank you for your interest in a rescue pup!

PA Kennel License #18991
