Lucia's Story
Lucia found herself in a rough spot, about to give birth, with no one to help her. Luckily, some kind people took her in and helped her through the early days of motherhood. (She is scheduled to be spayed! She's SO done with puppies!)

This breed is very smart, headstrong and athletic-- and they can be challenging! Lucia has proven she can clear a kitchen counter effortlessly, and she showed off her Malinois escape artistry when she needed a break from her puppies. This is a very smart, intense and demanding breed who need experienced owners with a good plan for training, exercise and mental enrichment. Lucia would be great at dog sports or scent work!

Foster report: Five stars!
"Lucia, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois (mix?) is a sweet girl who loves a comfy, cozy spot to curl up in. She has been gentle with her toys and loves playing fetch. She is still getting the hang of having to "Drop It" tho, in order to keep playing. She is attentive and curious and listens well. Guests have been greeted by a happy dog, without aggression or barking. She is potty trained, and well behaved. She loves doing tricks for treats and is getting better about crate time when I leave. (She loves company and is not too happy being alone). She's been overnight camping and was great at listening and staying close (with a leash on of course). She does well relaxing in the backseat on drives."

Lucia's adoption fee is $300 and includes vaccines, microchip and spay.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting one of our pets, please visit our website and fill out an application: www.northmeckanimalrescue.org
