LuLu's Story
Have you ever said, “I want a dog who’s affectionate but not clingy,” or “I want a dog who can be active and also relax,” or “I want a dog who actually bonds with me”?

Hi, I’m Lulu.

I’m a 3–4-year-old Staffie / Pit / German Shepherd mix, about 35 pounds, with a great balance of affection, energy, and calm. I love walks, playing fetch, and spending time with other dogs, but I’m just as happy stretched out on the couch while you read. I currently live with five other dogs in my foster home and fit in well.

I spent six months in a shelter and was getting restless before coming into foster care. On my first day out of the shelter, during an overstimulating home entry, I bit my foster mom on the ankle. With a little training and thoughtful introductions, I haven’t done anything like this again. Once I had time to decompress and train consistently, everything clicked, and I’ve settled into a steady, reliable, happy dog.

I’ve completed a basic training class and have good impulse control, including a solid sit-stay. I’m food-motivated, enjoy praise, and respond well to clear verbal cues. I’ve been socialized in different environments and handle new situations well. I’ll thrive with someone who enjoys working with their dog and values a close, responsive partnership.

I’m an affectionate, people-focused dog. I like being near my person, following you around the house, and curling up beside you on the sofa. If you let me choose where to sleep, we’ll share a pillow. If not, I’ll happily sneak in early-morning cuddles. I form strong bonds and take my relationships seriously.

I walk well on leash, which matters because I’m a leash-only dog. I’ll chase squirrels and may run up to other dogs. I sometimes bark on walks out of excitement, but when I actually meet other dogs, I’m friendly and playful.

I’m spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and my adoption fee is $400. I’m currently living in Olympia, WA.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s ready for a real home, I’d love to meet you.

Apply here:
https://www.mywayhomedogrescue.org/adopt/apply-to-adopt/
