He was brought to the local shelter and put on a ten day euthanasia deadline due to his medical needs, which just happened to fall over Christmas. We checked in after the holidays and found he was only a day away from euthanasia and knew we had to help. Lt Dan had performed a Christmas miracle of his own - after several days of crate rest, he regained the ability to walk! <br/><br/>Lt Dan has spent the past few months in foster care but is ready to move on to new digs. Lt Dan has IVDD and a collapsing trachea. He gets around just fine as long as his activity level is kept to a minimum. Short leashed walks and brief playtimes in the yard keep him happy and healthy! He takes daily medication for coughing and wears a harness for the collapsing trachea. He has done great with small dogs and female dogs in the home. He's more reactive to meeting large, male dogs so needs a foster home with females or small dogs only. He'd also be happy as the only dog in the home! He is fine with children 10+ who can respect his mobility needs. Lt Dan loves to be with his people and isn't fond of the crate when they're away, so fosters who are home throughout the day will make him happiest.
