Lt Dan's Story

Age: 8 years
Size: 33 lbs
Estimated breed: Labrador retriever/Beagle mix

Lt Dan was found as a stray in North Carolina, completely unable to use his hind legs. He was brought to the local shelter and put on a ten day euthanasia deadline due to his medical needs, which just happened to fall over Christmas. We checked in after the holidays and found he was only a day away from euthanasia and knew we had to help. Lt Dan had performed a Christmas miracle of his own - after several days of crate rest, he regained the ability to walk!

Lt Dan is safe with us in foster care, where we are completing his vetting and will then find him the best forever home. He is independently mobile and can walk and trot well. He occasionally slips or loses his footing on slippery floors, so he may benefit from shoes or socks for traction, plus carpets and rugs on the floor. To reduce the risk of reinjury, his family will need to make sure he avoids rough, sudden activity, such as large flights of stairs or jumping on/off furniture.

Lt Dan is a super sweet lap dog who loves nothing more than to cuddle with his people all day long. Outside, he's all beagle, nose to the ground and sniffing everything and anything he can find! Lt Dan is friendly with all people and dogs he's met so far. With his easy going temperament, we anticipate he'd do fine with older/gentle children as well. Lt Dan is a lower energy fellow but don't let his age fool you - he still has plenty of energy for several walks a day!

To adopt Lt Dan, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application

Lt Dan's adoption fee is $200, which covers his vaccines, microchip, senior bloodwork, neuter, and monthly prevention.

Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.

PA Kennel License #18366
