Thankfully, his foster mom rushed to save him and fought to get him the care he desperately needed. Surgery gave him a second chance, but his "magic leg" will never be 100%.<br/><br/>The remarkable thing isn't his recovery.<br/><br/>It's that after everything he's endured, Lt. Dan still believes every person he meets could be his new best friend.<br/><br/>At around 2 years old and 50 pounds, this sweet, goofy boy greets everyone with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes. He wants nothing more than to be included, loved, and part of a family. His surgeon couldn't believe that a dog who had suffered so much cruelty could still be this affectionate, trusting, and full of joy.<br/><br/>Lt. Dan thrives with routine and continues to gain confidence every day. He's kennel trained, enjoys learning, and would love a moderately active family that will take him on walks, keep his mind busy, and continue helping him grow while being mindful of his leg.
