Louie's Story
Meet Louie!
This very handsome boy was surrendered to our rescue from a less than ideal family situation. Louie was crated for very long hours and was not having a good life. He shared his home with 4 children under the age of 5, other dogs who came and went and cats. We are not certain what transpired between him and the "ex fiancé" but Louie is untrusting of men. With time he will be ok.
He was shut down when he first arrived which was only a week ago. He was so intimidating that his foster did not feel comfortable keeping him and it was understandable. Louie was also afraid to go outside. It was 3 whole days before he would venture out. For this reason he will require a fenced in yard that is not an underground fence. Chows are extremely sensitive and highly intelligent. They need lots of understanding and patience until they learn to trust you. He is going to be the most amazing companion when he is comfortable, secure and feels safe. Louie enjoys the company of other dogs and had a dog friend in his previous home. He has been friendly and curious towards a horse and mini donkey in his current foster situation.
Chows are dogs that you must allow to accept you on their own terms. Never ever should you be pushy with them or not respect their space.
We are looking for a chow experienced home for him. It is a sad reality when people do not take these requirements or information seriously. Please do not inquire unless you have had chows and understand what is required for one that is being rehomed.
Home visit and adoption donation required. Please email for an application.
NO CATS.
