Louie's Story

Louie - "Easy Lover"Quote from foster dad: Louie is a fairly low-key boy. We enjoy chilling out together, whether we are watching TV or I’m working on the computer. Louie follows me around the house simply because he loves me. (OK, maybe he wants some treats and belly rubs too)! Winning Louie’s love was an easy thing!”Woof-Facts: Name: Louie Breed: Mixed breed Weight: 60 lbs. Age: 6-7 years Gender: Male Health: In good health. Slightly hearing impaired, which enables him to sleep really good since he doesn’t necessarily hear the slight noises from the neighborhood. Had a mass cell tumor removed in 2022 and has been well since. Front teeth are not ideal, but he doesn’t let that get in the way of his amazing appetite!More Info Forever home recommendations: A home where Louie’s humans will give him the love he truly deserves, and he’ll give it right back! And some belly scratches too! Louie does well being home alone for approximately 5-7 hours at a time; he may bark or whine 5-15 minutes when first left alone, so he needs humans who will accommodate this schedule, understand, and help him to manage that going forward. Kids: Ages 10+ Dogs: Only animal in the home Cats: No Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Leash manners: Can walk a wee bit fast when excitable in a new environment. Has shown some dog reactivity while walking in the neighborhood—not aggressive, more so not yet versed in dog interaction. Personality: Fairly low energy. Loves to be pampered and petted. And a food lover, indeed! How did Louie find himself at Rescue Haven Foundation: Somehow found himself at a city shelter; then while being fostered in a home, was brought under RHF’s wing.
