Louie's Story

Meet Louie – professional shadow, certified cuddle expert, and full-time believer that absolutely everything should include him.

Born approximately October 18, 2024, Louie's story started with him and his littermates being found roaming the streets of Clinton, Missouri as babies, but somewhere along the way he decided that part of his story was over and that his real job in life would be becoming someone's very best friend. Since coming into foster care, Louie has spent his days mastering the art of being close to his people... and by close, Louie means right next to you, touching you, watching you, supervising you, and making sure he isn't accidentally missing out on anything important. FOMO is not just a personality trait with Louie; it may actually be a lifestyle.

This handsome tuxedo-wearing boy graduated from puppy school because yes, he is that smart. Louie knows commands like sit, shake, and legs, and his love language is apparently beefy treats and being told he's a very good boy. He loves games of fetch, tug-of-war, wrestling with his foster dog brother, and any activity that involves fun and attention. He also lives with a young foster human sibling and has proven himself to be a kind and loving companion.

Louie is also what many would call a world-class snuggler. He loves curling up beside his people on the couch, stretching out nearby in a recliner, or claiming his preferred sleeping arrangement: planted at your feet at bedtime because clearly every family needs a built-in nighttime security detail.

Now, Louie does come with a few amusing fine-print details. He is crate trained during the workday because, despite his many talents, self-control around soft furniture remains... a work in progress. Louie has yet to meet a blanket, couch cushion, comfy chair, or soft spot that hasn't whispered, “Louie... come here...” and honestly, resisting temptation is hard.

Like many smart dogs, Louie is still building confidence in new situations and outside of his familiar environment. He can sometimes be a little anxious and vocal when things feel unfamiliar, but his foster family has been working hard helping him explore the world and continue growing. He is eager to learn, incredibly food motivated, and his potential feels like it is only beginning to unfold.

At nearly 80 pounds, Louie is not a tall boy — he is more of a “solid unit” kind of guy. He has a heart-shaped nose, a beautiful black-and-white coat that looks like he's permanently dressed for a formal event, and one of those smiles that starts in his eyes before it reaches his face.

Louie isn't looking to simply exist in someone's home. He wants to be part of it. He wants adventures, routines, attention, couch time, and a family that sees all the incredible things still waiting inside him.

The suggested adoption fee for Louie is $365. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ is a non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR are adopted with DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already spayed or neutered if old enough, or a voucher will be provided once the dog becomes of age. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home.
