Lonnie's Story

Female - 18 months - 35 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - NYHi there, my name is Lonnie! I am an 18-month-old, 35 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and am trustworthy being left home alone uncrated. I like to relax and watch out the windows.
I am looking for a patient home as I am terrified of people and will do my best to avoid them. I have occasionally sought out attention from my foster mom after a few months together—it seems I did not have much exposure to humans prior to my arrival to Echo Dogs. A patient family who will work with me on my mistrust of humans with me and where there are not a lot of visitors would be ideal!
I love other dogs and will need a confident canine companion in my home. I am respectful and love to play with my foster siblings. I will require a securely, physically fenced yard as I love to spend as much time outside as I can at my foster home! I have learned about chew toys and think they are great! I do have a strong prey drive so I cannot go to a home with cats.
When I came to Echo Dogs, both of my front legs were broken due to a vehicle collision. I had several surgeries to repair the damage and can now move around comfortably and easily! As a result I am not a fan of cars—riding in them or just seeing them when out and about. Otherwise, I walk well on leash for my foster mom!
Now that I am physically healed up, I am ready to start the search for a special family to call my own where I can continue to learn about the human world. Could that be with you?
Follow me on Facebook: #EchoDogLonnie
For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.

Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Visit www.echodogs.org/available-dogs to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog IS available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
To review our adoption procedure and submit an online application, visit: www.echodogs.org/procedure 12/11/25 2:18 PM
