Lonney's Story

Lonney is a quiet, gentle pup who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He’s shy and cautious around people at first, taking his time to observe and understand before jumping in. But behind those careful steps is a curious little guy who truly wants connection — he just isn’t quite sure how to ask for it yet.

Where Lonney really shines is with other dogs. He loves canine companionship and gains confidence from his furry friends, often looking to them for reassurance and guidance. A home with another friendly dog would help him continue to blossom.

Lonney is looking for a quiet, patient home — one that will let him move at his own pace, celebrate his small wins, and show him what love feels like without pressure. With time, trust, and kindness, he has all the potential to become an incredibly devoted companion.

Because of his sensitive nature, busy environments and young children can feel overwhelming for Lonney. He would do best in a home with older, patient children (or adults only) who understand how to give him space and let him build trust at his own pace.

He doesn’t need much — just a soft place to land, a gentle routine, and someone willing to let him come out of his shell in his own time. If you have a calm home and a big heart, Lonney is ready to begin his next chapter.

Lonney is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $800 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Lonney is also tested with other dogs, and potty and kennel trained. He is not tested with cats and would prefer an adult-only household. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org.
