Lola (In Foster)'s Story

Meet Lola, the sweetest girl looking for an extra special home!

Little Lola spent months living alone in industrial area, surviving on food scraps from security guards and people passing by, and sleeping under a trailer while enduring the brutal summer heat and severe storms, before being rescued by ARNO. Once rescued Lola was terrified and it was clear she had never lived in a home or experienced human kindness in her short life. Despite being initially paralyzed with fear, Lola remained as sweet and gentle as could be. Now safe in a foster home Lola is showing just how resilient and adaptable she is, learning to trust her foster mom and live as a valued family member. She makes great strides every day and it is amazing to watch her personality and confidence grow.

Lola is around a year old and a little under 40lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative! She adores other dogs, loving to run and zoom and roughhouse. She loves the water and her toys (she is a natural at playing fetch!). Her crate is her safe space and she is learning to love car rides and walks. She greets her foster mom with tail wags and kisses, following her around like a shadow, always watching and learning. She is sweet and sassy, playful and gentle and ready to find her place in this world.

Lola needs an adopter who is patient and gentle, someone who understands that she needs time to trust and gain confidence, and who is willing to help her understand that she is, and always will be, safe and loved. Lola is full of energy and wicked smart, and is perfect for someone who wants to teach, train and bond with their dog (she would be fantastic for scent work or agility etc).

While it may take Lola a little time to trust you, with patience, consistency, and care, she will blossom into the most adventurous, adaptable and fun-loving companion you could ever want, and will bring you years of joy, unconditional love and unwavering loyalty.________________________________________________

If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/.

**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved.
