Loki (Courtesy Post)'s Story
Loki is a gorgeous 5-year-old chocolate Labrador with a heart full of love and a few quirks that make him extra special. He’s sweet, cuddly, playful, and smart – think “best friend in a fur coat.” Loki knows an impressive list of tricks: spin, bow, shake a paw, touch, sit, down, and more! He loves to learn and lives for quality time with his humans.

Unfortunately, Loki is struggling to adjust to a new baby in his current home. The change has made him anxious and it has become clear he’d thrive better in a calmer, child-free environment. His family has made the very difficult decision to rehome him out of love and in the best interest of both Loki and their growing family. Prior to the baby coming into the family, Loki was really good with kids so it may just be the baby/toddler stage that we would recommend he not be placed in a family with.

Here’s what makes Loki an awesome companion:
- House-trained and well-behaved indoors – he has free rein when home alone and just chills out
- Comfortable being home solo for up to 7 hours – no destruction, just naps!
- Super affectionate and snuggly – loves to cuddle after a good walk
- Active and loves playtime – the perfect buddy for walks, hikes, or a game of fetch
- Knows how to relax – a great balance of energy and calm

What Loki Needs:
- A home without small children
- A dog-savvy owner who understands leash reactivity and slow dog introductions
- Ideally the only pet, or with a calm dog friend after a proper, slow introduction
- A home without frequent skateboards, rollerblades, or loud motorcycles (he’d really prefer those things stayed far away!)

Loki has made huge progress with leash reactivity and walks well on-leash as long as other dogs are at a respectful distance (10 feet or so). He can meet and befriend new dogs with time and patience – it’s all about going slow.

If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and loving dog who’s past the puppy chaos but still full of life, Loki might be your guy. He’s ready to find a home that understands his needs and will love him for the amazing dog h
