Loki's Story

Hi, my name is Loki! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Friendly, outgoing, playful, slightly stubborn :)

-Can Live with Kids: Loki reportedly did well with the kid(s) in his previous home and should be fine doing so again. Everyone will need to meet at the shelter first to ensure they're a good match!

-Can Live with Cats: Not recommended due to strong likelihood of high prey drive

-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, Loki lived successfully with another dog (male Boxer) in his previous home and has tested well with other dogs at the shelter.

-Can do Apartment Living: No, this active scenthound needs lots of room to sniff and explore (and also has a singing voice that's much too magnificent for apartment-settings :)) Fenced yard strongly encouraged!

-Potty Trained: Appears to be

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No

-Energy Level: Med/high

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip
-Additional Information: Loki is a total Beagle through and through, with the voice and nose to prove it! Loki would thrive in a breed-experienced home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and, more importantly, mental stimulation. If left to his own devices, Loki will likely find ways to have his own fun (like getting in the garbage or chasing off after an interesting scent.) Loki is a happy, playful dog who would likely fit well into most families, so long as they know, love, and understand all the silliness that comes along with welcoming a Beagle into their lives!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
