Loki's Story
Personality: Very sweet and friendly, loving and gentle!

Education: Crate trained, potty trained and working on leash and basic obedience training.

Favorite Activities: He loves to play tug, and catch the ball which he can do sitting down even inside. He also loves going for walks in his wheelchair and snuggling on a couch.

Looking For: An active home where he will have fun playtime and a couch to cuddle hard! He will do great with another dog pal. Loki is very gentle and loving, but he stumbles and could knock a small kid over, so he will be best in a home with no kids or with older kids.

Special Needs/Concerns: He needs his wheelchair for walks and longer periods of activity like playing ball in the yard. He can get around on his own outside or on a surface that he can grip but sometimes when he falls he will need help getting back up. He can still go down a couple steps to get outside but needs help getting back up the steps. He will need someone who can lift him in and out of the car and get him in and out of his wheelchair. He also wears "male wraps" inside the house because he dribbles pee and has an occasional poop accident inside the house if he gets really excited or overexerts himself like getting up from his dog bed. We manage his spinal deformity and compression with a muscle relaxer and pain reliever daily.

Videos Playlist:
Loki's health recovery was documented by The Dodo channel; you can watch it below:
Click for The Dodo

Bio: The cutest little villain around!

Oh, hi there! My name is Loki. Like my Marvel namesake, I'm charming and bundles of fun. I'm a 2.5 year old, 44-pound neutered lab mix. When I was rescued as a stray in Long Beach, I didn't have use of my back legs. After being medically assessed, I made astounding progress everyday and can now stand and walk on my own! I just need help getting up and down some stairs, in and out of my wheelchair, and in and out of car, due to being unable to jump. I've been loving life with my foster and the only thing that would make me happier is a planet to rule... ahem, I mean a home of my own!

I'm an outgoing boy who loves other dogs and playing with them. I bark to say hello and just want their attention! Cats, on the other hand, are a no thanks! I have plenty of supervillain energy (aka puppy energy) but my play is limited with my legs. I love chewing on toys, bones, and being a loyal boy! What I love most of all is attention and affection from my people. I'm a big softie- don't tell the other "bad guys."

Unlike the original Loki, I'm a well-behaved boy! I am crate-trained and potty trained. I'm leash-trained for short walks and love to strut my stuff! I love getting out for walks and to explore! I just adore keeping my people company and being the most loyal boy in the galaxy. I am good with basic obedience and acing the course!

If you are active and looking for an unbeatable sidekick, I'm your guy! I'd do well in a home where I can be the star of the show and get all of the attention and love. I'd also be happy with another pooch who will be patient with me. Being at home, I can get around on carpeted surfaces with traction and lifting myself up. I am quite mobile, so you don't need to worry! So what do you say? Adopt MARVELous Loki today!

My adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please apply!
