Lizzy's Story
Lizzy is an affectionate, playful, and endlessly charming 8 pound, nearly 3-month-old pup who adores both people and other dogs. She’s dog-friendly, crate trained, and well on her way to mastering housetraining.

Lizzy has lots of energy and loves to play with both humans and dogs, but she’s also happy to settle in for snuggles. She’s an “interactive” kind of dog who wants to be involved in whatever you or the other dogs are doing, even if that’s just supervising from the middle of the kitchen during dinner prep. She follows the lead of the adult dogs in her foster home and is taking treats gently, sitting for treats, and showing great manners around food.

Because Lizzy is still learning confidence, she can get upset when left alone. She may protest at first, but she does settle after a few minutes, and this is improving as she learns the household routine. She is not destructive in her crate, even when she’s initially frustrated.

Lizzy would thrive in a home with one or more other dogs and a person or family who is home often and can maintain a consistent routine. She loves canine company and truly is a “dog’s dog.”

Due to her small size and her still-developing puppy play manners (including occasional nippy play), she may not be a match for small children. A predictable, gentle environment will help her continue to gain confidence and shine.

Her foster says Miss Lizzy is “unspeakably cute and charismatic.” She’s bouncy, energetic, clever, and delighted to meet new people and new dog friends. Lizzy is the total package for anyone looking for a loving, lively companion who wants to be part of the action.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/how-to-adopt
