She’s looking for an adopter who knows how to recognize and respect her boundaries. When meeting Lizzy, it’s important to follow staff instructions and let her set the pace—slow and steady, on her terms.<br/><br/>As a mature lady, Lizzy knows exactly what she wants out of life: a friendly dog her own size to play with, and a secure, fenced yard where she can zoom around to her heart’s content. At 8 years old, she still has plenty of spunk! Her ideal day includes a short walk, a fun car ride, and an evening curled up on the couch for snuggles.<br/><br/>Lizzy has successfully lived with other dogs, cats, and children over the age of 12. She’s well-mannered in the home and long past the chewing stage. She’s very food-motivated and is currently on a diet to keep her at a healthy weight, which also helps support her joints. Lizzy does have some arthritis in her feet and takes daily joint supplements to keep her comfortable.<br/><br/>While she can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, a few tasty treats go a long way—once she warms up, Lizzy’s sweet, loving personality truly shines.
