Volunteer note: “Lizzie is friendly when meeting other dogs on leash! She pulls (nothing crazy for me) at first but once she relieves herself she is a breeze. She doesn’t bark in the playyard when she sees other dogs, people or kids but she watches. Would love to see this old girl find a comfy home to make her feel loved!”

Sherman Animal Services's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are first come first serve. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place.
