She is only 1 1/2 years old.
❤ï ̧‍Despite her injury, Lizzie remains sweet and vibrant. She has a lot of love to give and loves to explore. Her favorite pastimes are giving kisses and exploring the great outdoors. Don’t let her paralysis fool you; this girl can seriously get around.
We are looking for a very special foster or adopter for Lizzie.
Unfortunately, the bullet that caused Lizzie’s rear legs to be partially paralyzed also made her both urine and bowel incontinent. The most challenging part of caring for Lizzie is her incontinence. Although she doesn’t need her bladder or bowels expressed, she does require significant care to take care of these needs. Lizzie is comfortable in diapers, but wearing diapers 24/7 creates its own unique problems. Even when they are changed frequently, she develops urine scald and irritation that requires special care.
If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Lizzie, please submit an application. We are happy to train you on all of Lizzie’s individual care needs.
We take great care when adopting out any of our dogs, but we’re even more cautious with special needs dogs, as they can easily fall victim to abuse or neglect. When adopting a dog that requires extra care, we have a stricter process and need to ensure you can commit to take on the responsibility.
Lizzie is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and kid-friendly.
