Livvy's Story

Dog's Name: Livvy
Gender: Female
Current Age: 1.5 years
Current Age Range: Adult (1 year or older)
Current Weight: 89lbs
Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs)
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Energy Level: Low-Medium

Dog Friendlly: Yes, and requires another dog in the home.
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kids: Unknown
Apartment Friendly: No
Fence Requirements: Physical fence required, any height

Crate Trained: We suspect Livvy is crate trained, but haven't needed to crate her
Potty Trained: Yes

Ideal Home / Adopter: Livvy's ideal home is one that has another young, playful dog. Livvy is a bit unsure in new situations and having a confident dog has brought her out of her shell. She loves romping around the backyard with the resident foster dog and a house with a fence would be required for her. Livvy hasn't been around kids and she does get startled by noises so young toddlers may not be the best for her.

Likes: Playing with other dogs, eating ice cubes, splashing around in water, going on daily walks, stealing clothes out of the hamper, lounging on the couch

Dislikes: Car rides, getting a bath, loud/scary noises, slippery floors

Livvy truly epitomizes the definition of a Lab. She is extremely easy going and just wants to please. Once she settles in and trusts you, she is the absolute best girl. Livvy lived her entire life outdoors so it was an adjustment living inside, specifically getting used to the hardwood floors in her foster home. She's finally mastered them and walks all around like a champ. Livvy seems to enjoy the company of other dogs more than people, but she still loves her humans. Livvy isn't overly needy and she likes being around her people, but is also independent enough to go lay in another room by herself.

All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.

We have a single application whether you want to adopt a dog, foster a dog in need, or volunteer with our organization. Please note: Our application takes up to 30 minutes to complete. Our application is very detailed because we want to understand the specific needs of your home and match you with the best dog or volunteer opportunity possible. We require all adopters to complete this application in its entirety before discussing the potential adoption of a dog. RESCUEDohio application process: - Return a fully completed application to us. Incomplete applications will not be considered (you should receive an email confirming your submission). - We review your application, contact vet and personal references, and contact your landlord if applicable. - Next, we schedule a home visit with you. A home visit may be done in-person or virtually by one of our volunteers. All members of your home must be present for the home visit. - Next, we approve or deny your application and notify you. Check your spam folder as our communications are sometimes categorized incorrectly. - If your application is approved, we will forward your application to the foster family who is fostering a dog that fits your application criteria. They will contact you to set up a meet-and-greet so you can meet the dog. - If the meet-and-greet is successful, we will notify you and arrange to finalize the adoption.
