Little Baby's Story

ABOUT LITTLE BABY
Little Baby is our almost 3-year-old pittie mix who loves life! She came to HAP, at no fault of her own, when her owners could no longer keep her. Little Baby quickly rose to fame for her short legs, adorable ears, big smile, and endless tail wags. While the shelter environment has been a little overwhelming for her, she's been thriving with one-on-one time from staff and volunteers, building confidence day by day. She absolutely adores every person she meets, leaning into your lap for some snuggles. When she's not soaking up love, she loves going for long walks, zooming around our fenced fields, and playing with toys. Little Baby loves her toys and knows how to make the most of her outdoor time, often splooting on the grass and soaking in the sunshine. Recently, she has been interested in other dogs and has even made a few furry friends! She is eager to please and incredibly treat-motivated, the kind of pup who will sit patiently, waiting for your praise and affection. This sweet girl has also lived with cats and has done really well sharing a home with a feline companion. Little Baby is also affectionate and gentle, known for crawling over just to rest her big, heavy head in your lap.

Little Baby recently spent a few weeks in a foster home and here's what they had to say about her: "We're always one of Rehoboth's 'go to' fosters for dogs needing a break from the shelter and let me just tell you - Little Baby has been the BEST dog we've ever hosted (to the point we even considered adopting if we didn't travel so much)! From the moment she strutted into the home, Little Baby was the perfect guest. She never had any accidents and she was never destructive and we were able to leave her out uncrated when we went to run errands and she was fine! She loved going on long walks around the neighborhood and then she'd come back inside and play with some of her toys before finding a sunny spot and snoozing for a nap - and we knew she was getting the best sleep because we'd here the occasional snores! She slept in bed with us and loved to follow us around in hopes of getting extra cuddles whenever she could. Little Baby is one of the best dogs we've had the pleasure of taking care of and whoever ends up adopting her really will hit the jackpot with her!"

She has also participated in our Doggy Day Out program, check out what they had to say about her:

"She lives up to her name! She did SO WELL around other dogs/squirrels/birds/horses - she was curious but did not pull or make any motion to get closer or make any noise. She walked so well on leash rarely bringing her head up from all the sniffs she was enjoying on our three hour hang out session at Bellevue. We stopped for a doggy cone and a hot dog on the way back. She was the sweetest girl and just wanted all the love. Several people stopped to pet her while we were out and she did so well meeting them allowing them to pet her and not jump and just take in the love! I absolutely adore little baby!"

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
