Lisa's Story

Foster/Adopter needed !

Meet Lisa — a 65-pound bundle of grace, grit, and golden-hearted forgiveness. She’s the kind of dog who, despite everything life has thrown her way, still wags her tail like the world is worth loving.

Lisa has been through it all — and somehow, she’s still one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. As a puppy, someone thought they were “saving” her by buying her from a homeless person… only to dump her at a shelter. She found a wonderful home for a while, but when tragedy struck and her adopter had to move overseas, she came back. Then the original “rescuer” stepped in again — only to give her away to someone who chained her up in a backyard.

When animal control finally got her back to safety, Lisa didn’t hold a grudge. She just smiled that soft, trusting smile of hers and leaned in for love.

At the shelter, she’s become their go-to helper dog — the one they rely on to test how other dogs do socially, because she’s just that good. She’s playful, patient, endlessly tolerant, and full of quiet wisdom. She makes even the nervous dogs feel safe.

Now she needs a place to land — a warm home where she can finally rest and remember what it feels like to belong. We really, really want to pull her from the shelter, but we can’t do that without a foster.

If you have a little space in your home and a lot of love in your heart, Lisa will give it all back tenfold. She’s been everyone’s helper dog. Now she deserves someone to help her start her next chapter — the one where she’s finally safe, adored, and home for good.

Can you be Lisa’s lifeline? Please reach out today to foster her — because this girl’s story deserves the happiest ending. Please fill out an application at HDRescueOregon.com
