Link's Story
Meet Link! He is a 10 year old mix breed who was originally adopted by a military member in Las Vegas in 2015 and was with her through many assignments and phases of life until August 2025. He is currently being fostered in the St Louis, MO area.

Link is a small, 40 lb ball of love. He is current and up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm, flea and tick medicine, and had dental work and cleaning in October 2025. Unfortunately, he had to have 17 teeth extracted, but that hasn't slowed him down one bit! Link has adapted quickly to his new way of life and eats his kibble without issue. He is a polite drinker and doesn't make a mess and loves to give his paws for some treats.

Link is crate trained, house trained, and loves car rides. He is left out to roam when his foster parents are at work and has mastered the use of a doggy door to go outside to do his business or to take a nap in the sun. Link LOVES to love. While he is not allowed on the furniture in his foster home, they sit on the ground with him daily and he will curl up in someone's lap the instant you make eye contact.

Link might be considered a senior dog, but he does get the zoomies and is very quick to want to play with you. He loves to go on walks and does pull on a leash so his foster parents use a pinch collar as a training tool, not as a form of punishment. He is a door darter so a home with a fenced in yard will work best.

Link is a gentleman and would be best suited in a home with someone who enjoys a nice, slow day or perhaps snoozing at your feet while you work from home. He will thrive in an environment where he is the only dog or one dog as a companion. He should not go to a home with multiple dogs or where the owners travel frequently. Having to board Link causes separation anxiety and that comes out in his behavior.

Link was left alone a lot with his first (and only) owner who frequently worked long hours which has left him craving love and attention. He is a really good boy who deserves the same amount of love he is willing to give. Link is eagerly awaiting a new home where he can show you just how good of a companion and love bug he can be for the rest of his life.
