Lincoln's Story

Meet Lincoln!

Lincoln is an adorable 9-month-old puppy with a wrinkly face, a wrinkly body, and a personality that is much more “grown man” than puppy!

Don't let his age fool you—Lincoln is potty trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has wonderfully low-to-medium energy. He's not the type of puppy who needs to be entertained every second of the day. In fact, Lincoln is perfectly happy doing absolutely nothing!

While you're busy around the house, Lincoln will happily entertain himself by chewing on a bone or taking a nap. He's very independent and content to do his own thing. He sleeps soundly in his crate both during the day and all night with no issues.

Lincoln is also goofy, clumsy, and absolutely hilarious. He may fall right off the couch and then immediately look at you like, “Did you see that?” He loves wrestling with his brother, and chasing remote control cars around the yard but given the choice, he'd probably pick a good nap or a tasty bone.

And if you have bugs in your yard, Lincoln has you covered! He takes his job as official pest control very seriously and will search out every bug he can find and attempt to eat it.

He takes treats very gently from your hand, walks well on leash, and is just an all-around easygoing, lovable boy. He's affectionate without being overly demanding and has the perfect balance of independence and companionship.

Lincoln is truly a grown man trapped in a kid's body—he has the heart of a puppy, the wisdom of a grandpa, and the coordination of a drunk toddler.

If you're looking for a handsome, funny, easygoing young dog who is happy to join you for an adventure or simply nap beside you while you go about your day, Lincoln may be your perfect match!

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC's Adoption Policy
All of our dogs are fully vetted (vaccines), parasite free, and altered (spay/neuter) prior to adoption, no exceptions. Most dogs are microchipped. Puppies must wait until 16 weeks of age to be adopted as this rule applies to them as well. Completed vetting paperwork is presented at the time of adoption. Dirt Road Doggies are fostered by compassionate families. With intricate knowledge of our dogs personalities, we work very hard to make each adoption a forever family by matching the adoptive families needs with the dogs. We want each adoption to be successful. Each adoption contribution is $250 per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.
