Lily Lou's Story
At just 8.5 pounds, Lily is a little Maltese with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. This sweet senior (around 12–13 years old) recently came into rescue when her owner sadly could no longer care for her due to medical reasons. While the change has been hard for her, Lily is ready to spend her golden years curled up next to someone who loves her.

Lily is the definition of a velcro dog. Shower? Expect supervision. Bathroom break? She’ll happily escort you. Sitting down for five minutes? Perfect, she’ll be there to help you warm your lap.

Lily is potty trained but, like many seniors, she can’t hold it all day long. She is not potty pad trained. She does great overnight, but when morning comes she’s ready to head outside right away. A home where someone is around during the day to let her out would be perfect for her.

Lily’s teeth are in pretty rough shape, and she is a little on the thin side because of them. She will be getting a dental soon, which should help her feel better. Her bloodwork looked great, and the vet was pleasantly surprised by how healthy this little lady is overall!

Lily would happily coexist with another dog, but she would probably thrive most as the center of someone’s world where she doesn’t have to share her favorite spot, your lap. She’s sweet, adorable, and so deserving of a soft place to land for her golden years.

Lily has a date with one of our groomers next week, and she will require regular professional grooming to keep her coat looking fabulous.

Lily is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. She recently had bloodwork and will have a dental prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet Lily, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
