Lily's Story

Meet Lily!

Lily is a happy go lucky senior gal that wants her chew toys and eat some tasty snacks. She likes to romp around in the grass and search for said toys. Lily is completely blind but navigates the world without a care. She should have a safe space where she can’t walk off a balcony and should have help learning a new layout but then she is pretty good to go!

Lily gets along well with most dogs as long as they steer clear of her toys and food. She may advise them of her personal space needs but as long as they take it in stride, all is well.

Lily dreams of her youth, chasing and possibly unaliving small creatures. Now she channels that into destroying toys but do not be fooled, she is still fast. Lily should not share space with any small beings, furry or otherwise.

In true cattle dog fashion, biting can be one of her methods of communication. Being blind, she can be startled or scared by unexpected touching. For everyone’s safety, Lily is muzzled for vet visits. Otherwise speaking to her can mitigate her negative responses. She hears well and comes when called. She loves to be petted and touched as long as she knows it’s coming!

Lily is a cute, 36lb, spayed, old lady dog somewhere between 11 and 100 years old. She has had full vet work up including dental, blood work, vaccines and seen an ophthalmologist. She is on daily eye drops and arthritis meds.

Lily’s adoption fee of $150 will be applied to her follow up ophthalmologist appt. Going forward she will hopefully just need rechecks every 6 months.

Truth be told, Lily does have a couple bites on her record for reasons noted above. We seek an adult only home that can accept our sweet and saucy girl and offer her the life she should have had all along.

Feel free to message us questions or complete an application if you think she may fit in your life.

Adoption app https://form.jotform.com/241304416564047

Lily is also seeking a foster until her home can be found.

Foster app https://form.jotform.com/241316544735052

Lily is located in Oakville, WA and available within a reasonable driving distance.

Misspits Rescue's Adoption Policy
Misspits Rescue takes in dogs from various sources including local shelters and owner surrenders. All dogs are current on shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped and treated for parasites prior to adoption. Dogs live in a foster home first so we are able to provide some insight into their behavior, training, likes and dislikes etc so that we can try to make the best match. Our mission is to place them in a forever home so there is a thorough adoption process including a home visit. We are a non-profit rescue and all adoption fees go back to supporting and helping more dogs. Please contact us if you are interested in one of our dogs. Thank you for considering a rescue!
