Lily Black Labrador Retriever & Golden Retriever Mix Fort Belvoir, VA

Meet Lily! Lily and her sister Rosie came from Puerto Rico. Their mom was a stray golden retriever who was taken in by a kind foster who cared for them after they were born. Lily is 12 lb and about 10 weeks old.

Lily is the bigger pup and she loves to play! Whether chasing a ball or scampering around the room with a stuffie in her mouth, Lily will make you smile. She’s bold and confident. We love how her soft black fur has begun to turn wavy on her back (like her mom’s) and the white blaze on her neck is precious.

Lily and Rosie are aware of their boundaries and baby gates. Rosie is curious and if there’s a weak spot, she will absolutely breach it, running through with such wild abandon! Lily will inspect the gate, but will not test it for weakness. She usually ignores it. However, if Rosie runs through, Lily will cautiously follow.

Both Lily and Rosie enjoy being petted. Lily will contentedly sleep next to you on the couch, often stretching onto your lap. Once she’s awake, she’s ready to play!!

Lily is independent and will most likely grow up to be a dog who is comfortable on the couch even if you’re in another room.

Lily and Rosie are sweet loving puppies who are alert and very food motivated. They are crate trained and are working on housebreaking. They are trained on potty pads and have been successful going outside frequently with their foster mom. They are still young, and have not begun to alert when they need to potty.

Lily is current on vaccines and spayed. She will most likely be around 50 lb based on her mom’s size. Adopters should anticipate buying lots of chew toys and consider training classes to help their new puppy become their very best!
