Lily Australian Shepherd & Husky Mix Rochester, NY

LILY is a gorgeous young (1-2) Aussie husky-type mix who was rescued with her litter of puppies, who've now been adopted. She's sweet and friendly in her foster's home and super smart. She was a little iffy on the other dogs in her foster home when she was with her puppies but now that her puppies have gone on to a new foster and being adopted and she's no longer in Mom-mode, she's been fine with the numerous dogs she has encountered in that that home. We'll want to do a meet with any other resident dogs just to be sure, but it seems she is okay with others now. We tried Lily with cats but she definitely wants to chase them, so she's looking for a no-cat home.

**Lily has proven to be a Houdini when volunteers have tried leash walking her, so she really needs a securely fenced-in yard to be safe. And what we mean by that is she doesn't slip her harness or collar - she's a PULLER and will give a big yank when on a leash and she's caught people off guard and escaped a number of pretty experienced walkers. So she'll either need a securely fenced in yard, or someone who will be extremely careful when walking and work on that with her.

Adoption fee covers: all vetting to age (including deworming, deflea etc ), spay/neuter and microchip after 6 months of age at our clinic, $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes, and lifetime support of rescue.

We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available.

PLEASE NOTE: If a dog is listed as Adoptable, he or she is still available at that time. Also, our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (NOT including Canada - sorry!)
