LILY $425's Story
Hello, Wisconsin, my name is Lily! I am a one-year-old spayed cattle dog mix. I weigh 60 pounds, but the vet says I could stand to lose a few of them (hmph!). I'm a friendly, playful, energetic girl, and I would love to find the Bingo, Bandit, and/or Chili to my Bluey!

I LOVE to run and play in the yard (I'm a really good fetcher!), and while my foster mom is working, I go to doggie daycare to get my energy out. I am a smart girl, and I take corrections well. I also know potty goes outside, but I am still getting used to my routine and might have a slip-up. I walk very well on a leash and stay right by your side (it's my job!).

I get along well with dogs and cats, but older kids would be a better match for me, as I can get a little rambunctious when excited and I don't always keep all my paws on the floor. When playtime is over, I love to cuddle. I'll sit on your lap and snuggle in, or rest my head on you for a nice snooze. I love getting belly rubs!

I love going in the car and going to exciting places. At bedtime and when my foster mom goes away, I go into my crate in exchange for a little treat. I might file a few complaints with management at first, but I'll settle in with some chew toys or a frozen Kong and maybe take a snooze.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
