Lily's Story

Lily came into rescue with several other dogs when their owner was moving to another state and couldn't take all of his dogs with him. He asked us to find them loving homes. Lily is a little chihuahua mix who is very sweet. She can be a bit shy/standoffish initially but warms up quickly. She loves being with her person and getting lots of attention. She would be a wonderful traveling companion or couch companion as she just really wants to be where you are. Lily is crate trained but we never guarantee any of our dogs to be fully housebroken. She does sleep in a crate overnight here and does great. Lily gets along well with other dogs. She is a bit more submissive than some of the others she came in with and does not mess with anyone. Lily enjoys being inside because that's where the people are and she is very people oriented (at least with her people). Lily would probably be fine with cats with proper introductions. Most cats are probably bigger than she is and could put her in her place. We think Lily would do fine with older children or children who can understand treating her with respect by not forcing themselves on her, who are gentle with her because of her small size and who would not be rough with her. Lily is just a very lovable little dog who will make someone a wonderful little shadow!
Lily saw the vet on 9/16/26 and was found to have no issues on her exam. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She was also negative on her fecal. Lily weighed 8.11 pounds as of 9/16/26.
If interested in giving Lily her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Lily's adoption fee will be $300 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Lily based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
