Lilo (Feldspar)'s Story
Meet Lilo

Lilo is an approximately 1.5-year-old Cattle Dog / Pharaoh Hound / Pitty mix who can't seem to catch a break. After being adopted as a young puppy, she was recently dumped at a shelter by her former adopter who claimed she was a stray. Now, after she has settled back into foster care, she's been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

IBD is a chronic condition that causes inflammation in the digestive tract and requires lifelong management. Lilo will need to remain on a strict Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein diet indefinitely. This special diet uses proteins broken down into tiny unidentifiable compounds, so her immune system doesn't overreact, helping keep her tummy calm and comfortable. During flare-ups, she may also need probiotics and immune support supplements on an as-needed basis.

The good news? Lilo is doing wonderfully with proper management and is still the same sweet, silly girl at heart.

She does well with other dogs after a slow introduction — she prefers space at first but once she warms up, she loves to play and enjoys having a canine buddy. She's good with kids, and we're told she previously lived with cats.

Lilo is working on crate training, potty training, leash manners, and basic obedience. She is very food motivated and eager to please — though she does eat quickly, so a slow feeder bowl is recommended.

Lilo is looking for a committed forever family who understands her medical needs and will keep her on her prescribed diet and routine. In return, you'll get a resilient, loving, delightfully goofy girl who is so ready to finally be someone's forever.

Ready to give Lilo the break she deserves?

**Dog breeds listed are best guesses from veterinary professionals, they are never a guarantee. www.brownpawsrescue.com.
