Lilly's Story

Hello. My name is Lilly and I am looking for a family to give me a loving, forever home. I am an 8 year old cream / blonde color Chihuahua,

My life has been rough. The people that had me before did not take very good care of me. I did not see the vet regularlly and wasn't bathed of kept clean. At first I was very skinny and alwayss hungry. I was fed several times a day and quickly devoured every bite. I was looking for food all the time. Since food was scarce I made sure I ate all of mine and very quickly too. I have gotten a lot better but still eat pretty fast.

Yes, at the shelter, I was nippy. Being a stray wasn't great, but the shelter was so loud, I was very scared, and didn't trust anyone. Now that I am in a foster home, I have relaxed and much better with people.

Things have really changed for me while I have been in my foster home. My left eye was injured and had to be removed. Foster mom said I did really well during my trip to the ER vet. Everyone was really nice to me and I made some new friends. I am still adjusting ot only one eye and occassionally bump into things, especially if I turn my head quickly. It doesn't stop me though. Foster mom says I am still that saucy little girl. I love to run and play. However, since i have had my eye removed I am distrustful of bigger dogs. i bark at them and raise my hakles to let them know I won't tolerate any funny business. One of the big dogs here won't come in from outside if I am at the door or in the kitchen...lol Because of my vision impairment, I prefer to be with dogs my own size, but given time, believe I could adjust to and get along with a bigger dog.

Also Foster Mom took me to have a teeth cleaning beause it was obvious my teeth had not been taken care of. Much to her and my dismay, when we found out I had only 3 teeth left! All the others had to be pulled. I am a foodie and love to eat so I wasn't about to let that stop me. I still chew on the hard bones laying aroung the houst. Fortunately 2 of the 3 teeth matvh up top to bottom, so I can still get my chewing done.

Foster mom says that I am very playful and energetic and that everyone is surprised when she tells them I am 8. I play with Lil Willie a lot and he is 3 and poops out long before I do...lol Lil Willie was adpopted a couple weeks ago, so I am a little lonely and hoping for a family very soon.

If you are looking for a lively little girl to play with, take walks, and nap/snuggle with, then I am your girl. I would love you and work very hard to be the best dog. I promise you will not be disappointed!
