Lillie's Story

Lillie was born February 24, 2017 and weighs about 80 lbs. She is a very pretty girl with the absolute sweetest face and the BEST curls down her back. She is openly friendly and does wonderfully with other dogs and cats alike. She came to us after her human mom passed away unexpectedly and her human dad, working full time, was unable to handle the 4 large dogs especially in the city environment. It didn't take long for her to realize more grass and less concrete is a pretty good thing and that swimming is a blast! Lillie is all in and will fly through the air to retrieve a toy thrown into the water. She will even run and fly off the dock with pure abandon!! Lillie has been around visiting children and was fine. Lillie is house trained, does pretty well on leash unless she is quite excited as she was when she arrived here and can be quite strong. Lillie does fine in the car even on her two hour journey here to Joyful Rescues. We are told if she is off leash she should hang around you while you do your outside chores and she did grow up in a fenced yard with a wading pool in the driveway during summer. Lillie has grown up with other dogs and we feel she should go to a home with at least one other dog that will be her buddy unless a human is home most of the time and then we feel she'd do fine as an only dog. We have found that Lillie is quite the cuddler when the day is done. We have to wonder is she has some curly coated retriever mixed in. Check out those curls in the last photo! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00_______.<br/>Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. Joyful Rescues's Adoption Policy
By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt but also others in or needing to come into rescue. Your adoption helps us to keep doing what we do to help area animals stop reproducing and find quality homes for the homeless while providing them the best care we can.  Your new family member will take considerable time, attention, patience and money to be properly cared for. Think of your new addition as your baby!! It is not a lawn ornament to be tied in your yard or kept in a basement. Consider the ultimate size of a young pet, how big of a pet can you handle?? Are you ready for an adult DOG or CAT in your family? If not, do not adopt a puppy or kitten - they grow up. Are you prepared for unexpec
