Libby's Story

Hi everyone, my name is now Libby, which is short for “Liberty,” which my mom picked for the 4th of July theme! I am the only puppy from the AR breeding facility pull. DC SIR was told last minute that I was being surrendered to rescue because I could not be sold online because of a Grade 3 luxating patella. DCSIR was told that I was put in a concrete pen by myself to help fix my leg. I am a 16-week-old female sesame Shiba Inu. I was so happy to arrive at Shiba HQ and receive the attention that I so desperately craved! I am a tall, goofy girl! I was also so skinny that you could feel every bone of my body jutting from under my skin. DC SIR is feeding me nutrient-dense food every couple of hours to prevent any long-term damage from not receiving enough sustenance. I was so happy to be out and around other dogs that I couldn’t control myself, so I kissed and pranced all over everyone. I have calmed down, and the adult dogs are teaching me manners around other dogs. I am a high-energy goofball, and my favorite toy is the flirt pole! But my foster says I have to be careful playing with that until I am cleared by a vet. I am getting Red Light Therapy sessions a couple of times daily to help my leg. The good news is that the vet says my luxating patella is only a grade 2! I am getting the best supportive care to help me be a healthy pup! Follow my story and apply to adopt me if you think I am a good fit for your family!
Libby’s rescue album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1040047864154244&type=3
Location: Extended
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes
DOB: 2/4/24
Weight: 15 lbs
Intake Date: 6/21/24
Available Date: 07/31/24
Considerations: Grade 2 Luxating Patella
Apply to adopt Libby: http://dcsir.org/service/adopt/
Step by step process on how to apply: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgW-CQMpYFY
Other ways to follow DC SIR:
www.dcsir.org
www.facebook.com/dcshibainurescue
www.twitter.com/DCShibaRescue
www.pinterest.com/dcsir/
www.YouTube.com/DCShibaInuRescue
www.instagram.com/dcshibainurescue
