LiLou's Story

Apply to Adopt Me!

NOTE: A generous sponsor has stepped up to sponsor Lilou's $250 adoption fee.

Lilou is a loving and happy girl!! Some of her favorite things are her sniffy walks, sunbathing, and hanging out near you on one of her dog beds. She loves other dogs too and would enjoy another companion to hang out with. Lilou is house-trained, enjoys treats, and occasionally plays with toys. She is around 6-7 years old and 40 lbs. She offers many tail wags and sweet kisses to show she is excited to enjoy the day with you. She is happy to settle in for some good naps while you work near her too.

Lilou has a cerebellar condition which affects her balance and coordination but she has adapted and doesn’t let that hold her back from enjoying life with much enthusiasm. Lilou manages quite well with assistance of a "Help Em Up" harness which she wears during the daytime so that you can assist her as needed. It has attachments which enable you to support her if she stumbles on a walk on neighborhood sidewalks. Inside the home she does best on carpets, or rubber mats (which will come with her adoption and can be used on tile or other hard slippery floors).

Lilou would thrive in a home where someone can be with her much of the time enjoying her loving company. But she sleeps fine with other dogs to await your return from errands. We believe she would do best in an all-adult home or with teens who are respectful of her needs and mobility.

Lilou was rescued on the streets of the Bahamas by her hero, Chella, whom many follow on social media. Lilou is a sweet girl, just looking for her forever home with someone who is able to give her a little extra help. If you think you have the perfect home for Lilou and live in Florida, please complete an application and tell us more about your family. She can’t wait to meet you!

You can see more photos and videos of sweet Lilou on her foster mom’s IG @puppyfostering.
