Leyland is a 4.5 brown Newfoundland located in western Pennsylvania. His fans have adored seeing his updates and progress as he made the journey from a starved and neglected outdoor dog, to a full-bellied couch cuddler who is learning the joys of toys. Leyland is a sweet, affectionate boy who has that classic Newf personality we all love. His gentle soul charms everyone he meets.
He's been working hard with his foster mom on training foundation skills and has already made huge progress. He will need continued practice on leash skills and learning to ignore cars/dogs/people while on walks. He's super smart and very food motivated. He really loves other dogs, he just needs a little socialization help to make friends!
Leyland would love an adopter who's home a lot - he does just fine when his people are away, but we feel like he deserves as much human contact as possible after spending so many years alone outside.
Somehow this guy never lost the belief that humans can be trusted and deserving of love. And thank goodness for that. Leyland's future family is truly winning the lotto here.
Medical Considerations: Twice weekly medicated baths, monthly Cytopoint shots, ongoing care for his food/environmental allergies
