Lettie's Story

Lettie is a 1.5-year-old, 60 lb White Shepherd/Alaskan Husky mix (born Feb 19, 2023) who has been in loving care since she was a puppy and is now looking for her forever home. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines. Lettie is a very affectionate, loyal, and happy dog who is wonderful with people, children, and visitors, and she has never bitten a human. She enjoys being brushed, handled, and going for nail trims at PetSmart, and she is calm and content in the house, fully housebroken, and non-destructive. She was crate trained in foster care but does not need a crate now, instead sleeping freely in the home, often joining her person in the morning for cuddles. Lettie is excellent in the car, using a seatbelt harness, and loves rides with her head out the window or calmly waiting while errands are done. She is very active and loves forest hikes, swimming, playing fetch, running, exploring trails, and especially enjoys sniffing and “find it” games as well as puzzle toys. She is exercised twice a day for 30–45 minutes and thrives with both physical and mental stimulation. She completed training at North Toronto K9 Centre, excellent recall, leash skills, and basic obedience; she continues to train with her waist leash and Martingale collar. Lettie gets along well with cats and enjoys the company of larger dogs, but she is reactive toward small dogs and did bite one in August 2025 (no stitches were needed). She has no medical issues, takes no medications, has no allergies, and is kept on heartworm and tick prevention. Fireworks, thunder, and loud noises do not bother her, and she adapts easily to change. Lettie would do best in a home without small dogs but with continued training and love, she will make a devoted and gentle lifelong companion.
