Lester's Story
I’m a simple guy with a big heart. I came into the shelter as a “stray.” The man who brought me in held my collar without a leash and said he had just found me. But when I was taken back to the stray intake room, I became very stressed. He looked over the counter to say goodbye, and I didn’t understand why. Unfortunately, the staff realized a little too late that he was actually my owner.

I began showing signs of separation anxiety, which is completely normal for a dog who is suddenly losing the only person he’s ever known. On top of that, I was placed in a kennel environment—which is hard for any dog, but even harder for one who is grieving and confused.

I’m not a bad dog. I’m just a dog who lost his home. I would do best in a calm, quiet household where I can feel safe again and slowly learn that I’m not going to be left behind. All I really want is a peaceful place and someone to call my own.
