Meet Leonidas! <br/><br/>Hi! My name is Leonidas, but all my friends call me Leo. I&#39;m kind of a celebrity around here, but don&#39;t worry, it still hasn&#39;t gone to my head. I am one of the longest residents here at the Humane Society, I&#39;ve been in their care since August of 2021. I&#39;m an American Bulldog mix, and the birthday they helped me choose is 08/19/2016. Now that I&#39;ve got the boring stuff out of the way, let me tell you about me! If you&#39;ll indulge me in bragging for a moment, I&#39;ll tell you I am one of the BEST huggers you will ever meet. I have never met someone who didn&#39;t melt right in my paws. If you give the right first impression, good luck stopping me from giving you a snuggle. I love a good treat, I mean who doesn&#39;t? My friends have taught me a lot of basic commands, and if you give me a reward or use a clicker I will listen for sure. I&#39;m also a sucker for a good chew toy. Rubber balls and hard toys are my absolute favorite! My friends like to give me Kongs filled with peanut butter, and I can&#39;t get enough of those. I could chew on a good toy for hours, honestly! A couple of things you should know about me are my HUGE fear of storms, for one. Way back before I lived at the shelter, I was shot in the shoulder area and the thunder just reminds me of that way too much. I&#39;m fine now from the gunshot, though, not even a scar! I also want to be the only pet in the home. Other dogs and cats are fun to think about, but I don&#39;t actually want to be anywhere near them. I think kids are pretty fun! I love to give them big hugs and kisses, but they should be old enough to understand my boundaries. I can get a nervous if you hold me too firmly, and I know some really little ones don&#39;t understand that yet. <br/><br/>Leo is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped.
