Leona's Story

We have been spotting more polar bears in New Orleans, or so we thought! Then we realized, it's Leona! Leona was found roaming Boomtown Casino where it is believed she had spent about 6 months living out there. She was caught by a good Samaritan and taken to Jefferson SPCA where she then came to ARNO. She joined our feral rehab program and is starting to come out of her shell! Leona loves to go on walks, and she loves to play with other dogs. She loves hotdogs and chicken, and while she is not completely comfortable with being held, she is allowing herself to be touched a bit more. If you have some really special treats she may let you brush her a bit! Leona would do well in a calm home with no children, and a mature, social dog to help her. She is very clean, and enjoys her comforters, so she promises not to take up too much space

If interested in Leona, please email us at adoptfromarno@yahoo.com. We do require that you spend time working and bonding with Leona. Fostering is a great way to help socialize these dogs, and we are with you every step of the way. Contact us for more information!
