Leon's Story
Meet Leon – The Sweetest 3-Legged Explorer ?

Leon is a 2.5-year-old Labrador mix with a heart as big as his smile! This medium-sized sweetheart may be a tripod, but don’t let that fool you — Leon is full of life, love, and just the right amount of adventure.

Rescued from a junkyard with a severely broken hind leg, Leon’s only option was amputation — and he’s been thriving ever since. He’s adjusted beautifully to life on three legs and gets around just fine, especially when he’s got room to roam and play.

Leon is extremely affectionate and social. He adores kids and loves the company of other dogs his size or larger. He’s currently living peacefully with a dog-savvy cat, though we think he’d do best in a home without feline roommates (or with continued supervision).

With a medium energy level, Leon enjoys his daily walks, backyard adventures, and social outings. He’s also a smart cookie who benefits from mental stimulation — puzzle toys, training games, or anything that engages his mind. A securely fenced backyard is a must, as Leon loves to explore and stretch his legs safely.

Leon’s dream home is with an active family who has older kids or respectful young ones, a playful canine sibling around his size, and an understanding heart when it comes to his mobility needs. He doesn’t let being a tripod slow him down, but he’ll need a home that’s patient and supportive of his unique needs.
