Leo's Story

Meet Leo, this sweet boy is under 1 y.o. and is living proof that love can heal. A couple months ago, Leo was found barely alive in the middle of the road on a cold, dismal snowy and blistery day. He was so malnourished he couldn't stand properly, luckily a kind stranger stopped her car to save him, and this gave him a second chance at life.

When found he was severely underweight and malnourished, a frightened pup who was too weak to stand, cowered standing only on his ankles and wrists. Not only wasn't he fed, but his tender pink paws appeared to have never touched pavement before and were getting frost-bitten and blistering, with much more we will not describe at this time.

The good news is that now he is a wiggling ball of pure joy, love, and puppy kisses!
With dedicated foster care, veterinary treatment, proper nutrition, and the encouragement of his doggie foster siblings, Leo has blossomed into the happy, playful pup he was always meant to be and discovering the joys of toys, playtime, and endless cuddles. He's gained healthy weight and is now in the 30's, and although he is on the smaller side, he has learned to stand tall (mostly!). Leo does have some front leg weakness, but this continues to improve, and some dysplasia in his left elbow (front leg), but this doesn't slow down his zest for life one bit. He's best suited for shorter, gentle walks rather not hiking trips. Leo would do wonderfully in a loving home where he can be your canine companion. Leo absolutely adores people and will shower you with affection from the moment you meet him.

Leo is looking for a patient and loving person to continue his rehabilitation journey and give him the forever home he's fought so hard to find. Application, home visit and adoption fee apply. Call 216-225-5526 or email for inquiries.
