Leo's Story

Courtesy post: Meet Leo

We are urgently searching for a loving new home for our almost 4-year-old neutered Pit Bull Terrier, Leo. Due to unexpected financial hardship and the possibility of becoming homeless, we can no longer provide the stable life and care he deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision made entirely out of love for him.

Leo is a 72-pound sweetheart with so much love to give.

He is:
• House-trained
• Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines
• Great with adults, children, dogs, and cats
• Healthy, affectionate, and loves being with his people

Leo enjoys long walks, cuddling on the couch, playing with toys and puzzle games, and his favorite treats include carrots, plain Greek yogurt, pumpkin purée, and peanut butter.

Leo does have environmental allergies that are successfully managed with Apoquel and a consistent treatment plan. The missing fur you see in his last photo is the result of an allergy flare-up after his medication had to be interrupted because of financial hardship. When he's receiving his medication as prescribed, his coat grows back beautifully. He has been thoroughly examined by his veterinarian and has tested negative for fleas, ticks, mange, heartworms, and other infectious skin conditions. Veterinary records are available.

To make his transition as easy as possible, Leo will go to his new home with everything he needs, including his crate, leash, collar, remaining food, bowls, toys, treats, and other supplies.

More than anything, we want Leo to have the happy, secure future he deserves with a family who will love him as much as we do.

If you think you could give this amazing boy the forever home he's been waiting for, please reach out to RehomeLeonidas@gmail.com or 202-670-0042
