Leo's Story

Leo was found as a stray and brought to our shelter. Unfortunately, he wasn’t claimed, but now he’s ready to find his forever home! Leo is super sweet and loves people! We think he’d do great with kids! We aren’t sure how he would do with cats, but he seems to do well with other dogs! Leo is assumed to be a lab mix, and he is around 50 pounds! He has one brown eye and one blue eye, along with his stunning blond coat!

Leo has been diagnosed with Heartworm disease and will be treated for this as soon as possible! In the mean time, he will be restricted from strenuous exercise to ensure his heart can keep up with the disease. Once he is treated, we will retest him to ensure the worms have been killed. Once he has been given the all-clear, he should live a full, happy, healthy life!

Every dog adopted from Green Hills Animal Shelter is fixed, wormed, has age-appropriate vaccinations, and is tested for heartworm (if old enough). Dogs from GHAS will also come with a starter bag of Hills Science Diet dog/puppy food to get you started!

In order for you to adopt an animal, we need you to . . . - Be sure that you are financially able to provide for the animal’s needs. This includes food, supplies, license and veterinary care. - Be sure that you have adequate time to spend with your new pet, including training, exercising and grooming. - Have your landlord's permission to bring an animal into his/her property. - Have the consent of all adults in your household. - Be at least 18 years of age and have verifiable identification. - Complete an application in full and discuss it with a GHAS employee. - Understand that this is an adoption, not a sale.
