Leo's Story
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Meet Leo!

Affectionately known as Chungus, Chungie, Gooby and Little Big Man, Leo is an approximately 6-year-old, 30-pound Shih Tzu Jack Russell mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Leo is a lovable, cuddly little guy who also enjoys his independence. He loves lounging in the yard and keeping an eye on the neighborhood, taking a good couch nap and getting his ears scratched. He is food motivated, receptive to training and eager to please, making him a great candidate for someone who enjoys helping their dog learn and thrive.

Leo is very welcoming to strangers and has been a favorite at doggy daycare. He has also done wonderfully at the groomer. He gets along with other dogs with proper introductions.

On walks, Leo is very aware of his surroundings and can be vocal when he sees other people, dogs or encounters loud vehicles. His new family should be prepared to give him a little space and guidance when he gets excited or wants to let the world know what he thinks!

Leo has experienced quite a few changes recently, including a move, changes in the family work schedule and the arrival of a new baby. The increased activity and attention that comes with a young child has been a little overwhelming for him, so Leo is looking for a home without young children. He has done well with older children, particularly those around 12 and up.

With all of the recent changes in his life, Leo has occasionally had accidents in the house. We believe the disruption and change in routine may be contributing, and he should have the opportunity to settle into a consistent schedule in his new home. A belly band may be helpful initially while he adjusts.

The ideal home for Leo

Leo would love a fenced yard where he can safely do one of his favorite things which is sitting outside and supervising the neighborhood! He would also enjoy a family who will give him a predictable routine, continued training and plenty of affection.

Leo is a wonderful little companion who has been through a lot of change and is ready for a fresh start. He doesn’t need a perfect home—just a loving one that can provide consistency, patience, structure and plenty of ear scratches.

Adoption donation $200.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. Go to www.lppnc.org
2.
