Leo's Story

Hi! My name is Leo, also known as “good boy”. I’m a 26 lb cocker mix with an estimated birth date of August 2014, and I'm ready to mingle! I’ve been told I’m a sweet boy and an independent thinker. Not only that, but I love long naps and I’m a foodie, so Netflix and chilling out with you is my ideal evening.
Everyone has room for growth, and since honesty is the best policy, my vice is claiming random objects I find as my own and protecting them. I’ve been working on giving up old habits though. Just be kind and help me by reminding me to "leave it." Going for short walks and training sessions are my new healthy coping skills, so it would be great if I could find someone willing to continue with my new routine.
I’d love to find someone who I can be there for on hard days. Given my age and my story of having been returned to the rescue due to the introduction of two babies who didn't know how to respect my space, ideally, I'll be an only dog without any kids younger than 12 in the household. Peacefulness, consistency and routine in my environment is priority. Other laid back dogs who wouldn't try to take things from me might be okay as housemates, but I'd be happiest finding a BFF in you and not having to share you.
I'm heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, up to date on my vaccinations and recently had a dental, so I'm ready to be adopted! As is common with a lot of cockers, my ears and skin are sensitive, so I'm on a special diet and my ears require frequent cleaning so they don't get infected. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
Please let my friends at GGCSR know if you’d be interested in getting to know me by submitting an adoption application here: https://www.gulfcoastcockerspanielrescue.com/2020-adoption-application-captcha.php. I can’t wait to meet you!
