Lenny's Story

Hi I’m Lenny! I am a lab mix and have the most beautiful bluish gray fur that is luxuriously soft. I’m about 5 months old, super sweet and loving. Currently I weigh 30 lbs. I will probably be about 60 lbs when I’m done growing. I’d love to find an active home that will take me for walks and play with me in the yard. Because I’m young, I will need training to make sure I am the bestest behaved boy. I’m already pretty well behaved but need to polish my good boy skills some more.

My foster brothers are HUGE. They call them Great Danes. I think I’d like to be a Great Dane when I grow up. But for now, I love playing with them and showing them their size doesn’t scare me at all. My foster mom says I’m so very smart. She has a kitten and I think it’s so much fun to chase her. I would never hurt her but boy is it fun to try and get her. Secretly I think she loves when I chase her but she’s so fast and can jump up onto things I can’t reach. I still try though!

I love going for car rides and travel very nicely in the car. I’m not nervous at all. I am crate trained. I also sleep in my crate overnight. I’m working on potty training and doing well. But I’m still a puppy and need to go outside regularly. I’ll need you to be patient with me as I’m getting the hang of things. I LOVE people and would love nothing more than to cuddle up with them on the couch or in bed. I just want to be wherever my family is. I love playing with other dogs but would be just fine as an only dog. I like to bark at noises I hear outside but I’m not a crazy barker. My foster mom says I’m the bestest boy so I’d like to find a family that tells me that too!

Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Lenny is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $350 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered and microchipped. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested. http://newstartdogrescue.org
